The album "Hearsay" is the 16th original album by jazz trumpeter Piotr Schmidt. The album has been hailed as the Best Jazz Album of 2023 in Poland 4 times! In the Jazz Top survey of Jazz Forum magazine it took 3rd place in this category. This is definitely one of the most interesting original concert proposals of recent years.

"Hearsay" was born at the same time as "Nieznany Komeda". The material for this album was recorded during the same recording session. However, it shows a new direction in Piotr Schmidt's work, which is manifested by a certain eclecticism of two musical worlds, in which the trumpeter had participated in parallel so far. However, the titular "rumour" reveals to the listener the true meaning of this music. Schmidt's new album consists of stories that revolve around artists, their lives and achievements, but not only that. "Hearsay" refers to overheard information without confirmation, which often leads to misunderstandings and a false perception of reality. This music becomes a space for Piotr to confront these rumours through his music, to finally try to see the naked truth, free from subjectivity.
