Delightful material by Krzysztof Komeda in a new version of the best jazz dream team in Poland. Komeda Unknown 1967 – an original project of the outstanding trumpeter Piotr Schmidt from 2022.

The undisputed success of the album allowed this young representative of the jazz scene to enter the studio to create another bold material "Hearsay" (SJRecords, 2023). The continuation of this musical adventure is the invitation of outstanding musicians of the Polish jazz scene to share live music with the audience. The invitation of Aaron Parks, Mino Cinel, Adam Bałdych and the entire Piotr Schmidt International Sextet is an event on a European scale. The combination of the delicacy of Master Komeda with the contemporary arrangements of the band, the virtuosity of the musicians, restoring lesser-known pieces by a well-known composer, is an exciting announcement of an exceptional concert.

It will be an unforgettable winter evening. The only such evening in Wrocław.

Komeda Unknown 1967
When the world thought that everything had been done with Komeda's work, unexpectedly, impressed by the album "Tribute to Tomasz Stańko" (SJRecords, 2018), Piotr Schmidt was approached by Krzysztof Balkiewicz - President of the Association for the Care of Krzysztof Komeda's Legacy, who gave him six compositions by the Polish Jazz ace discovered in the archive and previously unpublished. These compositions were to be included on the album "Moja słodka europejska ojczyzna", but in the end they did not appear on it and were lost... Until Piotr Schmidt took them up on the project. The trumpeter arranged and released these findings in 2022 on the album "Komeda Unknown 1967". As Balkiewicz himself convinces: "Piotr Schmidt, together with his friends, paid tribute to Krzysztof Komeda on the 90th anniversary of his death in an absolutely brilliant way. It seems that our European homeland has been waiting for this music...".
